Wakeskate Camp
Our wakeskate camp runs weekly and usually campers arrive on a Sunday, the camp runs Monday through Friday, and the campers depart on Saturday. The program we have established allows each camper to ride one set behind the boat and two sets behind the wave runner in our rail park. There is also the opportuny to trade for a set in the System 2.0 Park depending upon the campers goals. We find that riding more than three sets a day exhausts riders too much to progress their skills. Every set you take on the boat or wave runner is a thirty-minute coached set, while a set on the System 2.0 is an hour set.
Major factors on why our camp is the best:
Our facilities
Our backyard consists of 88-acres of land, three private lakes, world renown rail park, and new for ’09 the System 2.0. Our boat is the only one on the water, so we don’t have to fight for smooth water. Our lakes are surrounded by forest to protect the elements, so our water is always smooth as glass.
We don’t need to go off-site to another facility to teach you to hit rails, our rail park has everything from beginner to advanced rails. We have everything from incline rails to flat bars, and A-frames to up-flats. So it doesn’t matter whether you are a beginner or a pro, we have just the rail for you.
Currently the only camp that utilizes the System 2.0 cable
The System 2.0 has been hailed by coaches and riders as the future of wakeskating. It is arguably the best training tool you can have for trying to learn rail and flats tricks. With the System 2.0 (our straight line cable system) you get more on water time. The cable can pick you up in a shorter period of time compared to a boat or jet ski. It gets you on the water again quicker, to learn the trick you’re working on.
Low camper maximum
We currently have nine coaches on staff, five of which live on-site. This equates to a large number of one on one time with the coaches. Aside from only having time with the coach on the water, because the coaches live on-site the coaching doesn’t end when you’re off the water. Anything from trampoline training, watching wakeskate videos or conversing on the dock about the sets from the day, there is a plethora of coaching time. Our low number of campers also lets us be more relaxed on our schedules. If you’re looking to progress in the rail park, we can trade out one of your boat sets for an additional rail set. If you are looking to work on your flat water tricks, we can trade out a set on the System 2.0 so you can learn it in a quicker, easier to coach, more efficient way. We can change our sets around to make you reach your goals.
Boats are weighted properly
It seems camps these days like to keep weight out of their boats to save money of gas, or are overloading the boats for every rider thinking the biggest wake is always the best. We weight our boats appropriately to accommodate the level of the rider. They will learn better with a boat properly weighted.
Our coaches are professionals trained in coaching
We have all our coaches go through regular CPR and boating safety classes. They also go through a series of coaching classes where we teach them how to break tricks down and work from the ground on up on campers fundamentals. On a regular basis, we will sit around and talk about how to help a camper reach his goals. The majority of our staff has been coaching for over five years.
